Firework

I found out on Halloween that it’s not easy taking pictures of fireworks with a handheld point and shoot camera even when you discover the “firework” setting. Still, given the technical difficulties, I’m pleased enough with this image to publish it as my Guy Fawkes Night post. I’ll try again tonight if anyone lets off fireworks near enough to my house – I need a lot more practise!

Well done for capturing it, something I’ve never successfully done. I won’t be getting any practice this year: it’ll be an early night and a book for me, so your photo is as close as I’ll get!

Thanks Jo – it was the last of at least 20 shots and the only one that wasn’t almost completely black πŸ™‚ I was just beginning to get the hang of it when the display ended! Enjoy your early night and book πŸ™‚

Wow! Good shot, it is really hard to capture fireworks! This looks awesome, kind of like a burst of pure fire in the sky without any of the typical firework colors (like blue, pink, etc).

Thank you so much Carolyn! I’m looking forward to taking a closer look at your blog, but right now I need to be in my garden trying to get more firework shots!
